What is collected

CivicDial has no accounts, no logins, and no tracking cookies. Browsing the site does not create a profile of you.

Two things are recorded:

• Standard server logs. Our hosting provider records the requested URL, a timestamp, your browser's user-agent string, and your approximate region for the purpose of serving pages and blocking abuse. These are retained for a short period and are not combined with anything else.
• Correction reports. If you submit the “report a wrong number” form, the page it came from, the field you flagged, the value you supplied, your note, and any evidence URL are stored so a human can act on it. Your IP address is stored only as a one-way hash, used to stop the same source flooding the queue. The form asks for no name, no email address, and no phone number — please do not type personal details into it.

Advertising

Ad slots on this site are currently empty placeholders and no advertising or analytics scripts are loaded. If third-party advertising is introduced later, this page will be updated before it goes live to name the provider and describe the cookies it sets.

Third-party links

Pages link out to government and agency websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Children

This is a public reference site aimed at adults and is not directed at children under 13.
